LFA paints the stage!

Students from Lake Forest Academy painted the entire stage floor at Gorton in record time. CenterStage in Lake Forest provided the paint and materials, and three volunteers signed up for the painting crew as part of the school's Community Volunteer Day. Dave Miller coordinated the project as the students prepped the walls and stage and then put down special black stage paint. CenterStage also provided refreshments for this team, part of 14 students who washed toys, cleaned lockers, organized children's books, and moved boxes for other of Gorton's resident non-profits.

This is the second year that a group from the Academy has painted the stage. Dave reports that the students didn't even get paint on themselves! Thanks to the students and their teacher, Mary, for their hard work.
